MONTANA ELK HUNTING

Welcome to Montana elk hunting like you've always dreamed of. We start and finish all of our hunts right here at the guest ranch, so plan on arriving here and spending your first night in one of our cozy cabins with dinner in the lodge. Next morning, we'll leave early and the drive to the Monture trailhead only takes about 25 minutes, so you’ll be in the saddle in no time at all. We will already have you matched with a horse and saddle, so as soon as our guides load all your gear onto our pack string, we're off! Our hunters go over Young's Pass, which takes about 6 hours riding time. Not a bad ride at all! . Arrival time in camp is late afternoon.

Once we’re in camp, the rest of the first day is spent getting settled in. From the next morning, you’ll hunt for 7 days. All of our hunts are 2 on 1, unless special arrangements have been made. You'll be rifle hunting during the elk rut, so be ready for a bull elk charging right through the timber towards you! We also have great mule deer hunting on the high ridges, and your combination permit will allow you to hunt for grouse and fish the pristine waters of Young's Creek. At the end of the week, you'll return to your cabin at Lake Upsata for a hot shower, dinner in the lodge, a dip in the hot tub, and a chance to reminisce with new friends or old, and dream of your next year's hunt.

Montana Wilderness hunting in the vast Bob Marshall Wilderness and Scapegoat Wilderness offer some of the best hunting anywhere for Montana deer hunting, MT elk hunting, bear, moose, Big Horn sheep and mountain goat hunts. The opportunities for a Montana big game guided hunt are as plentiful as the wildlife.

Our horses have taken hunters into this wilderness for decades. With our knowledge of the high country and the big game that live there, we'll help you experience a top quality Montana wilderness hunting trip, in a truly magnificent landscape.

We offer big game hunts with several elk hunting trips to choose from. The scheduled hunting trips are 9 days long with 7 full days of hunting.

Our hunting camps comfortably accommodate up to six hunters, with four being the ideal group size. All hunters enjoy the comforts of a completely furnished tent camp staffed by a cook. And no matter which trip or type of hunt you choose, you can always do some Montana fly fishing anytime.

9-Day Backcountry Combo Elk/Deer Package- $4000

The Outfitter Bitterroot Elk has chose to handle our clients has been in business for many years. He is located in the Absoroka and Scapegoat Wildrness Area in Central Montana. This is a non-motorized roadless area. The remoteness of the area and the location of the Outfitter will give you the opportunity to hunt in solitude. The areas see very little pressure. The terrain is forgiving, with some open parks and open timber hillsides. Elevation will run from 4500 to 7000 during the rut hunts

Hunts are limited and book early each year. The Outfitter only does 3 trips a year with 6 in each camp.

This is a 7 day hunt. Everything is provided for you, including airport pick-up. You are responsible for personal gear only. The camps and food are exceptional, but even more important is the opportunity to hunt Montana elk during the rut, miles from civilization and other hunters. Mule deer is also included in this hunt.

2 on 1 rate is $4200 per person

1 on 1 rate is $5300 pr person

Elk/Deer/fishing combination is $1250 or $995 for Elk only

Early Backcountry Rifle Season
Located in the Hellroaring Creek drainage, generally used September 14th through late October, is an eleven mile horseback ride into the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness from our lodge in Jardine. Hunt by horseback and by foot. We have a comfortable camp with wall tents equipped with heating stoves and cots.

Deposits and Refund Policy
Deposits are 50% at time of booking, balance due by September 5th. Cashiers check, personal check or cash is accepted, no credit cards. Pricing includes all meals, but does not include the license fee

Early Backcountry Rifle Season
Number of days include day into camp and day out, 5 days of hunting.
